From the collection of one local man, all kept in their original boxes bearing the "Classic Wines" importer label (at the time the only company bringing quality French wines to Massachusetts). Philippe Remy no longer exists, the vineyards forming the backbone of Domaine Leroy since 1989. The 1976 vintage was a hot one, producing highly concentrated wines. We opened the Gevrey-Chambertin "Les Combottes" and were shocked by the richness of fruit. There are tragically few opportunities to taste mature Burgundy such as these without taking out a loan.
