2018 Barrialto "Santa Brigida"

Availability: In stock (5)

Debut vintage from Rafael Rodriguez project exploring Manzanilla through the lens of natural winemaking (organic vineyard management, spontaneous fermentation, minimal SO2) and perhaps most notably, without fortification. His first two wines to the market identify and showcase sub-types of the region's famed albariza soil, highlight heritage vines typically ripped up in favor of higher-yielding young vines, and somehow remain Manzanilla in their souls, even in the absence of fortification. A radical manifestation of enlightened winemaking in the context (or in the face) of a grand historical wine culture. 30 bottles allocated to Massachusetts.
