One of the great under-rated sites in Willamette, Momtazi is a Demeter-certified biodynamic vineyard nestled in the foothills of the Coast Range in the McMinnville AVA. The soils are composed primarily of uplifted marine sedimentary loams and silts, with alluvial overlays and an underlying base of volcanic basalt. St. Innocent sources from very exposed sites at the highest elevations of this large vineyard, where continuous sun produces intensely rich, unctuous pinot noir with a firm tannic structure. 2018 is a warm, unusually dry vintage, one in which patience will be rewarded for those interested in being patient.
