VARIETIES: 34% Grenache, 26% Tempranillo, 23% Mourvedre, 17% Graciano. VINEYARD: All fruit is sourced from Shake Ridge Ranch in the hills a few miles east of Sutter Creek, in Amador County. The vineyard vary in elevation between 1,500 and 1,800 feet above sea level with varying steepness of slopes and a variety of soil types. VINIFICATION: The Tempranillo and Grenache were harvested on September 5th, at at average of 23.6 Brix and good acidity. Mourvedre and Graciano were picked nine days later with an average Brix just over 21, firm acidity and a moderate pH. Grapes were all destemmed, fermented in small, open top bins and manually munched down twice a say. Pressed at dryness, into barrels that have held 16 previous vintages. All lots were blended together in Decemeber 2016. Racked out of barrel in mid-February 2017 and bottled May , 2017.
