2021 Cascina delle Rose Dolcetto d'Alba "A Elizabeth"

Availability: In stock (1)

Varietal: Dolcetto. The Dolcetto is dedicated to Elizabeth, a friend of the winery from San Francisco, who has been helping them with the Dolcetto harvest every year since 2000.

Appellation: Dolcetto D'Alba

Vineyard: Rio Sordo in Barbaresco, with south/southwest facing exposure

Vinification: No herbicides are used, and they only use a minimal amount of copper and sulfur in the vineyard - aiming towards as minimal an environmental impact as possible. Manual harvest. Fermentation and vinification are entirely in stainless steel. The skins remained in contact with the must during the first fermentation that lasted for 12-14 days, followed by a submerged cap maceration. After the alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation was completed in the cellar at temperature of 20° C. Aging in stainless steel and bottle. The winery practices organic viticulture and is in the process of converting to full organic viticulture.

Tasting Notes: Intense, brilliant ruby red. Floral notes of violet, red fruits, clean, fresh, fragrant fruit pulp, fine sleek tannins and persistent finish.
