2023 Icardi Piemonte Cortese "L'Aurora"

Icardi is a family run winery with over a hundred years of history currently run by brother and sister duo Claudio and Mariagrazia. Though perhaps better known for their line of reds (Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, and an excellent Barbera we currently stock) their whites are also outstanding. If you’ve ever had Gavi, you’ve consumed the cortese grape featured here. This Piedmontese variety is known for being easygoing and crisp, and a perfect companion for seafood and lighter fare. Expect some lemony citrus, a bit of almond-y nuttiness, but mostly expect a clean, delicious, summer wine that is equally at home with a picnic lunch as it is with a pesto pasta or herb-dressed grilled fish.
