2022 Vinca Minor Monterey Chardonnay / Pinot Noir

Pour one out for Vinca Minor, a great California wine label run by artist and winemaker Jason Charles. After 12 years, Jason is shuttering his wine project to return to his first love: photojournalism. His beautiful, eye-catching labels were always a welcome sight on our shelves. You knew you were in for some killer wine; especially his work with carignan, which he sourced from organic, old vines in Mendocino county. Our commemorative selection for the pass this month is a lively 80/20 blend of chardonnay & pinot noir. The chardonnay was direct pressed, with the pinot noir being whole cluster fermented for 3 days before being blended with the chard and then co-fermented for about a year in old French Oak barrels. You’ll likely taste some pomegranate, various berries and some salinity. Serve chilled and pair with salmon or chicken.
