2022 Margins Cabernet Franc

Margins Wine is the project of Megan Bell, a winemaker living and working in the Santa Cruz Mountains. She produces low-intervention wines using grapes from underrepresented regions, vineyards, and grape varieties. She's part of the growing movement in California to make wines from sustainably farmed vineyards using little to no additives during the winemaking process, thereby showcasing the vineyards the grapes came from. At less than 12% alcohol by volume, Megan's Cabernet Franc is a good example of her light handed touch. Plenty of fruit, some tannin (but certainly chillable if that's your thing), vibrant acidity, classic pepper, and a touch of earthy funk. This is a versatile wine, but I say have it with some grilled rosemary chicken or a lentil stew.
