Philipp Bründlmayer makes wine in Austria’s Kremstal region, where his family has been working the land since the 1980s. He took over from his father Josef in 2015 and has kept things simple and thoughtful ever since. Kremstal stretches along both sides of the Danube, where sunlit slopes and a mix of rocky and loess soils give the wines their texture and lift. With vineyards scattered across the region, Philipp bottles a handful of site-specific wines that show off Kremstal’s elegance. At Streetcar, his rosé is always one of our go-tos—fresh, easy, and endlessly drinkable. Now we’re adding a zippy grüner veltliner in a liter bottle to the mix. Sourced from loess-rich sites and fermented in steel, it’s a juicy, peppery white that’s a no-brainer for parties, picnics, or casual dinners with friends. Pour it as an aperitif or pair it with fish, chicken, or grilled vegetables.
