2019 St. Innocent Temperance Hill Pinot Noir

Vineyard Notes: Temperance Hill Vineyard is located very high in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA and is farmed organically. A cool site that ripens very late and is exposed to direct winds through the Van Duzer Corridor off the Pacific Ocean. These winds bring out sweet spice aromas, and the cool volcanic soil emphasizes dark red fruit notes. The production is down as we replant the last blocks lost to phylloxera (a root louse).

Tasting Notes: Dark cherry and blackberry aromas with black pepper, cinnamon/clove spices and cedar smoke. The mouth begins with a big hit of smoky spice and black raspberry with notes of roasted chilies and dried plums. The finish has loads of substantial skin tannins with plenty of juicy acidity that elevates the pallet, maintaining ample ripe flavors long into the finish. Pair with Salmon, lamb chops, pork tenderloin and simply prepared grilled foods.
