2020 Mary Taylor (Rus Jimenez) Manchuela

Mary Taylor is a Burgundy-based wine professional originally from Concord, Massachusetts. She has assembled a small portfolio of European wines in collaboration with quality-minded winemakers and cooperatives, each with the goal of introducing the drinker to a true representation of the wine's place of origin. Manchuela is a pretty big appellation carved out of the La Mancha region in 2004. Rus Jimenez makes organic wines at her family's Finca El Molar, and worked with Mary Taylor to create this light, juicy, floral red from the rare local variety moravia agria. Simple, hearty foods complete the picture here: salt cod, garbanzo beans, garlicky greens, ... oh, and don't forget manchego cheese!
