(2022) Duckman "Baga Duck"

A quick glance at the entertaining Duckman website informs you that “The original João Pato ("Pato", the family name = Duck) lived between 1920 to 1984 and was reborn in 2018 as Duckman spirit. In truth, the winemaker here is Maria Pato, daughter of the esteemed winemaker Luis Pato, but her wines are far more experimental and wild in nature than those of her father. “Baga Duck” is a classic red that is unexpectedly light on its feet, clocking in at 12% abv. Some bright cherry fruit and a hint of funk, this is a versatile medium bodied red that has nice light tannins, good minerality, a wisp of smokiness and herbs. Have this one with a sausage or two or three.
