2022 Grillo Iole Friuli Colli Orientali Ribolla Gialla

Back in 1999, biologist Anna Muzzolini left her undoubtably fascinating career to take over her family's 9 hectare estate which is nestled right up against the Slovenian border in tiny commune of Prepotto. This small winery produces only about 3,500 cases annually, and the vineyards are primarily planted with local varieties like this Ribolla Gialla. Aged in steel on the lees, this is a fresh white with lots of green apple, peach, and floral notes. Pair it with your end of summer picnics, fresh fish, or whatever veggies you need to grill up from your farm share.
