Ingrid Groiss has winemaking in her blood, with a family tradition that goes back over 200 years. She aspired early in her youth to one day take over her family's winery, and did so at a relatively young age. The 20 hectares of vineyards she inherited, are diverse -- some old co-plantations of 10+ varieties destined for Gemischter Satz-style white blends, some with gruner veltliner as long as the eye can see. Upon taking over the family vineyards, Ingrid converted them to organic viticulture and narrowed their range to produce only wines that reflected their terroir, grape variety, and vintage. She is especially fond of her rows of 30-year-old riesling vines, from which she produces this taut, electric, bone-dry white that is entirely suitable for southeast Asian cuisine, among others.
