The 2024er Krettnacher Auf dem Hölzchen Riesling Kabinett Trocken comes from 50-60-year-old vines above the Ober Schäfershaus. It proves initially slightly reductive and needs a few minutes in the glass to reveal herbal scents of grapefruit, plum, violet, thyme, yuzu, and dill. The wine is compact and tight on the palate and oozes a great sense of grip and intensity right into the beautifully bone-dry, salty, and spicy finish. This is an impressive dry Riesling. 2029-2044
