With about one thousand acres of vineyards nestled in the alpine mountains of eastern France, Apremont is both a notable, historic winemaking region and a hidden gem for excellent, crisp white wines. Philippe Viallet runs the domaine his parents founded 60 years ago, and has brought considerable energy and innovation to the enterprise as he enters his 5th decade as a winemaker. Here we have his classic regional white, a blend dominated by the local jacquere, alongside chasselas, chardonnay, and altesse for added richness and depth of character.
