So Far Out is the brainchild of Andrew Jones (Field Recordings), Mike Testa (fifth generation Santa Barbara vineyard guru), and Jamil Williams (of Amy Atwoods, a leading Californian distributor). The idea is simple: get Santa Barbara wines to the people! They started with a chillable red, which we crushed all last summer. This time we're focusing on "Bright White", a blend of white varieties you might find in white from the Languedoc: petit manseng, chenin blanc, sauvignon blanc, and grenache blanc. As with the other So Far Out wines, all the fruit is sourced from organic sites, and the winemaking is clean and unfussy, with nothing but a minimal amount of sulfur at bottling. Try this Mediterranean-influenced, Californian-through-and-through white with grilled shrimp, spinach with lardons, or nothing at all!
