This is not your average honey wine! We first smuggled our first Enlightenment Wines to the shelves of Streetcar about ten years ago after a visit to Raphael Lyons' first cramped production site in Brooklyn. Now sold through standard channels of distribution, we are very pleased to have them back.
Enlightenment Wines has been focusing on small batch, natural, unfiltered meads made with wild yeast, foraged herbs, and locally-sourced fruits since 2009. The natural fermentation is really what makes these stand out, as the resulting beverages are truly dry, impeccably balanced, and utterly drinkable.
