2021 Frenchtown Farms "Chasse Patate" Sierra Foothills

Availability: In stock (3)

Mourvedre (70%), Grenache (30%). Chasse Patate is an expression of the lighter side of the Sierra Foothills. The Naggiar Vineyards in Grass Valley, CA are much less severe than North Yuba, sitting at about 1200 ft. of elevation. The vines are planted on rolling hills rather than steep rocky slopes, resulting in less tannic structure and an approachable fruit profile at a young age. The Grenache and 20% of the Mourvèdre were whole-cluster foot-stomped with the remainder of the Mourvèdre direct-pressed as soon as the fruit arrived at the winery. The resulting color and body are light and crisp. After 6 days of maceration, the wine was pressed into large oak vats and clay amphora for a six month maturation.
